Here is some history on Wrigley feild and other great events that happen there.

Wrigley Field located in Chicago, Illinois, has served as the home ballpark of the Chicago Cubs since 1916. The stadium was built in 1914 as Weeghman Park for the Chicago Federal League baseball team, the Chicago Whales. The ballpark was called Cubs Park between 1920 and 1926 before being renamed for then Cubs team owner and chewing gum magnate, William Wrigley Jr.. Between 1921 and 1970 is was also the home of the Chicago Bears of the National Football League. It is the oldest National League baseball stadium and the second oldest active major league ballpark, with Fenway ballpark built in 1912 being the oldest and the only remaining Federal League park.

Babe Ruth’s “called shot,” when Babe Ruth allegedly pointed to a bleacher location during game three of the 1932 World Series, Ruth then proceeded to hit a home run on the very next pitch.

Pete Rose’s 4,191st career hit, which tied him with Ty Cobb for the most hits in baseball history. Pete Rose singled off Reggie Patterson on September 8, 1985.
