Parking Tin Sign – Why Should I have to Press 1 for English

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM

Historically, English originated from the fusion of languages and dialects, now collectively termed Old English, which were brought to the eastern coast of Great Britain by Germanic (Anglo-Saxon) settlers beginning in the 5th century – with the word “English” being derived from the name of the Angles. The language was further influenced by the Old Norse language with Viking invasions in the 8th and 9th century.

The Norman conquest of England in the 11th century gave rise to heavy borrowings from Norman-French, and vocabulary and spelling conventions began to give the superficial appearance of a close relationship with Romance languages to what had now become Middle English.

The Great Vowel Shift that began in the south of England in the 15th century is one of the historical events marking the separation of Middle and Modern English.

A significant number of English words are constructed based on roots from Latin, because Latin in some form was the lingua franca of the Christian Church and of European intellectual life

English is arguably the largest language by number of words; the Oxford English Dictionary lists 500,000 words, not including technical and scientific terms.

This parking tin sign makes a great gift for anyone.

License Plat Sign – Waving Checkered Racing Flag

August 25, 2010

Racing flags are traditionally used in auto racing and similar motorsports to indicate track condition and to communicate important messages to drivers. Typically, the starter, sometimes the grand marshal of a race, waves the flags atop a flag stand near the start/finish line. On road courses, track marshals are also stationed at observation posts along the course in order to communicate both local and course-wide conditions to drivers. Alternatively, some racecourses employ lights to supplement the primary flag at the start/finish line.

This checker flag license plate makes a great gift for any racing fan.

Decal signs come in 12 colors and 3 sizes, thats a lot to choose from. The seahorse is quite unusal animal there are about 40 species. Here are some facts about seahores.

There are about 40 species of seahorse are mainly found in shallow tropical and temperate waters throughout the world. They prefer to live in sheltered areas such as seagrass beds, coral reefs, or mangroves. Colonies have been found in European waters such as the Thames Estuary.  From North America down to South America there are approximately four species, ranging from the very small (dwarf seahorses are only about 2.5 centimeters (1 in) to much larger specimens off the Pacific Coast of Central America (the foot-long H. ingens). H. erectus are larger seahorses that range from Nova Scotia to around Uruguay. Three species live in the Mediterranean Sea: H. hippocampus (long snout), H. brevirostris (short snout) and H. fuscus (immigrated from the Red Sea). These fish form territories, with males staying in about 1 square metre (11 sq ft) of their habitat while females range about one hundred times that area. They bob around in sea grass meadows, mangrove stands, and coral reefs where they adopt murky brown and gray patterns to camouflage themselves among the sea grass. During social moments or in unusual surroundings, seahorses turn bright colors.

This decal sign would make a great gift for any child to place on their window to look at even in their favorite color.

Today is our 32nd wedding anniversary. My husband Bill has been a fire fighter for almost 25 years. He has missed many special occasions. Sometimes I have been so mad at him for putting us last.  The kids would say there dad goes again and we would go with out him. As the years pasted I remember why I married him. He is such a caring man and would give you the shirt of his back. This last year his health has went down hill and he is going to have to give up the fire dept and driving truck. It breaks my heart to see this happening. Maybe know he can do some of the projects around home and we can have sometime together.

If you know a fire fighter it takes a special kind of person to do that job. This license plate tag would make a great gift for them.

License plate Tag – Country Music

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
August 9, 2010

Country music  is a blend of traditional and popular muscial  forms traditionally found in the Southern United States and the Canadian Maritimes that evolved rapidly in the 1920s.

Country music has produced two of the top selling solo artists of all time. Elvis Presley, who was known early on as “the Hillbilly Cat” and was a regular on the radio program Louisiana Hayride, went on to become a defining figure in the emergence of rock and roll. Contemporary musician Garth Brooks, with 128 million albums sold, is the top-domestic-selling solo U.S. artist in U.S. history.

While album sales of most musical genres have declined since about 2005, country music experienced one of its best years in 2000, when, during the first six months, U.S. sales of country albums increased by 17.7 percent to 36 million. Moreover, country music listening nationwide has remained steady for almost a decade, reaching 77.3 million adults every week, according to the radio-ratings agency Arbitron, Inc.

The term country music gained popularity in the 1940s when the earlier term hillbilly music came to be seen as denigrating. Country music was widely embraced in the 1970s, while country and Western has declined in use since that time, except in the United Kingdom and Ireland, where it is still commonly used. However, in the Southwestern United States a different mix of ethnic groups created the music that became the Western music of the term country and Western. The term country music is used today to describe many styles and subgenres.

If your a country music fan this license plate tag is for you. There not just for cars, you can place them on a wall or in a frame.

License Plate Tag – London Skyline

You can take 3 or 4 license plate tags of scenery and a range them in a group of frames or just 1 big one.  It’s a inexpensive way of  placing photos on the wall.  If you use 1 big frame or small ones make sure to use the ones with matting in the frames to cover the cut outs in the license plate tags. Another idea for the matting is used construction paper for the matting and cut it out to fit the picture.

This makes a great gift idea for Christmas or any other occasion you need a gift.

Blank Tin signs – You Customize

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM

I found a great place to get blank tin signs for crafts and your own design. My friend Doris is into crafts and ask if I could help her find blank tin signs so she could paint on them. It’s not easy to find blank tin signs but I found a place that has all kinds of blank signs.

They carry tie-die signs plan white signs and so many others to choose from. They also sell in bulk also if I did not see what I wanted they could maybe find what I wanted. I was so happy to be able to tell Doris this. Know all I have to do is wait for her to choose and she can order her signs. I can also tell her that they have lots of different sizes to choose from.
