Mandiri Customers Latest to Fall Victim of ATM Withdrawal Scam
The ATM theft scam plaguing Indonesia continued on Monday, with several customers of state-owned PT Bank Mandiri reporting to police that their accounts had been robbed of millions of rupiah through illegal ATM withdrawals.

Limbong, 53, from Medan, said that he suspected theft after he received a text message from the bank notifying him of a cash withdrawal.

“I received several messages from the bank within five minutes, informing me of a Rp 1.75 million ($187.25) withdrawal,” Limbong said, adding that the got the messages at 10p.m. on Sunday night just as he was arriving in Jakarta to attend a training course.

“I immediately called Mandiri to block my account,” he said.

Limbong’s colleague, Zulkifli, 50, said he lost Rp 70 million, while Soemadi Saiman, 60, said he lost Rp 90 million.

Soemadi said he discovered the theft after printing his account statement and saw that Rp 90 million had been withdrawn between December and Friday.

“My money had been taken in Rp 3 million to Rp 4 million withdrawals,” Soemadi said.

Bank Mandiri told Soemadi the withdrawals were all made from an ATM in Tebet, South Jakarta. However, Soemadi said he had never withdrawn any money from that ATM.

Soemadi filed a complaint to the bank.

“But they seemed to put the blame on me somehow,” he said. “Now I’m afraid to keep my money in a bank.” .

Moehardomo, 63, a retired public works employee, said he had lost a total of Rp 4.8 million through illegal withdrawals from his Bank Mandiri account.

“There were four withdrawals, each of Rp 1.2 million,” he said, adding that they were made on Jan. 5 and Jan. 6.

Moehardomo said he discovered the missing money when trying to convert his savings account into a time deposit.

“I asked that my transactions be printed and was shocked to find that the balance was lower,” he said.

Moehardomo said he was even more surprised to find that the withdrawals were made through other banks’ ATMs, despite the fact that he only used Bank Mandiri ATMs.

Moehardomo said he had now moved all his funds into a time-deposit. “I hope the rest of my money is safe if I put it in a time deposit,” he said.

Jakarta Police said they had stepped up patrols at several ATM locations deemed unsafe.

“Of course, we coordinated with the banks. We will also patrol high-risk areas,” spokesperson Sr. Comr. Boy Rafli Amar said.

Banks should have boosted the security of their databases, Boy said.

“So far [security of most ATMs] is covered only with CCTV cameras,” he said, adding that police will evaluate the most frequently visited ATM locations.

Police are now holding 13 suspects in custody for various ATM-related crimes in Jakarta and East Kalimantan and are investigate the possibility that more ATM thieves are still on the loose.

The National Police on Sunday said they had yet to confirm whether the suspects were linked in any way, or tied to the recent wave of illegal ATM withdrawals in Bali. “We will investigate, and please give us time,” National Police deputy spokesman Brig. Gen. Sulistyo Ishak said.

“We also need the public to check their accounts and report to us if their money was stolen.”

People don’t like to carry cash for fear of being robbed, but then if you go to use your ATM card someone gains access to your account and robs you. This license plate tin sign is to put some rumor back in your life.

License Plate Sign - New Orleans Saints

January 27, 2010

The New Orleans Saints are a professional American football team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Saints play in the South Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL).

The Saints were founded in 1967 as an expansion team and played their home games at Tulane Stadium through the 1974 season. They went more than a decade before they managed to finish a season with a .500 record, two decades before having a winning season, and over four decades before reaching the Super Bowl. The team’s first successful years were from 1987–1992, when the team made the playoffs four times and had winning records in the non-playoff seasons. In the 2000 season, the Saints defeated the then-defending Super Bowl champion St. Louis Rams for the team’s first playoff win.

Since 1975, the Saints’ home stadium has been the Louisiana Superdome. However, due to the damage Hurricane Katrina caused to the Superdome and the New Orleans area, the Saints’ scheduled 2005 home opener against the New York Giants was moved to Giants Stadium. The remainder of their 2005 home games were split between the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, and LSU’s Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After a $185 million renovation of the historic stadium, the team returned to the Superdome for the 2006 season. The team played its 2006 home opener in front of a sold-out crowd and national television audience on September 25, 2006, defeating the Atlanta Falcons by a score of 23–3. The victory received a 2007 ESPY award for “Best Moment in Sports.” The club reached the NFC Championship Game in 2006 but lost 39-14 to the Chicago Bears.

The 2009 season was the team’s best season. The November 30, 2009 Monday Night Football game vs. the New England Patriots, in which the team went to an 11–0 record for the first time in franchise history, was the second highest rated cable program to date. After becoming 13–0 with their win over the Atlanta Falcons, it marked the Saints’ best start to a season in its franchise history. The result clinched an NFC playoff berth, a bye in the first round of the playoffs. By winning their first 13 games, the Saints also set the record for the longest undefeated season opening (13-0) by an NFC team since the AFL–NFL merger, eclipsing the previous record (12-0) held by the 1985 Chicago Bears. The team advanced to the 2009 NFC Championship game where they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28 in overtime, sending the team to their first Super Bowl appearance in franchise history.

Dolphins are marine mammals that are closely related to whales and porpoises. There are almost forty species of dolphin in seventeen genera. They vary in size from 1.2 m (4 ft) and 40 kg (90 lb) (Maui’s Dolphin), up to 9.5 m (30 ft) and 10 tonnes (9.8 LT; 11 ST) (the Orca or Killer Whale). They are found worldwide, mostly in the shallower seas of the continental shelves, and are carnivores, mostly eating fish and squid. The family Delphinidae is the largest in the Cetacean order, and relatively recent: dolphins evolved about ten million years ago, during the Miocene. Dolphins are among the most intelligent animals and their often friendly appearance and seemingly playful attitude have made them popular in human culture

Animal Tin Sign - Ducks

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
January 25, 2010

Duck is the common name for a number of species in the Anatidae family of birds. The ducks are divided between several subfamilies listed in full in the Anatidae article; they do not represent a monophyletic group but a form taxon, since swans and geese are not considered ducks. Ducks are mostly aquatic birds, mostly smaller than the swans and geese, and may be found in both fresh water and sea water.

Ducks are sometimes confused with several types of unrelated water birds with similar forms, such as loons or divers, grebes, gallinules, and coots.

This animal tin sign would make a nice picture on any wall you choose,

Custom License Plate - History of Texas

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
January 20, 2010

Texas ( /ˈtɛksəs/ (help·info)) is the second-largest U.S. state in both area and population, and the largest state in the contiguous United States. The name had wide usage among native Americans, meaning “friends” or “allies”.  Located in the South Central United States, Texas is bordered by Mexico to the south, New Mexico to the west, Oklahoma to the north, Arkansas to the northeast, and Louisiana to the east. Texas has an area of 268,820 square miles (696,200 km2), and a growing population of 24.7 million residents. Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth-largest in the United States, while Dallas–Fort Worth and Houston are the fourth- and sixth-largest United States metropolitan areas, respectively. Other major cities include San Antonio, El Paso, and Austin—the state capital. Texas is nicknamed the Lone Star State to signify Texas as an independent republic and as a reminder of the state’s struggle for independence from Mexico. The “Lone Star” can be found on the Texas State Flag and on the Texas State Seal today.
Due to its size and geologic features such as the Balcones Fault, Texas contains diverse landscapes that resemble both the American South and the Southwest. Although Texas is popularly associated with the Southwestern deserts, less than 10% of the land area is desert. Most of the population centers are located in areas of former prairies, grasslands, forests, and the coastline. Traveling from east to west, one can observe terrain that ranges from coastal swamps and piney woods, to rolling plains and rugged hills, and finally the desert and mountains of the Big Bend. Due to its long history as a center of the American cattle industry, Texas is associated with the image of the cowboy.

The term “six flags over Texas” came from the several nations that had rule over the territory. Spain was the first European country to claim the area of Texas. France held a short-lived colony in Texas. Mexico controlled the territory until 1836 when Texas won its independence, becoming an independent Republic. In 1845 it joined the United States as the 28th state. The state’s annexation set off a chain of events that caused the Mexican–American War in 1846. Texas declared its secession from the United States in early 1861, joining the Confederate States of America during the American Civil War. After the war and its restoration to the Union, Texas entered a long period of economic stagnation.

In the early 1900s, oil discoveries initiated an economic boom in the state. Texas has since economically diversified. Today it has more Fortune 500 companies than any other U.S. state. With a growing base of industry, the state is a leader in many, including agriculture, petrochemicals, energy, computers and electronics, aerospace, and biomedical sciences. It leads the nation in export revenue since 2002 and has the second-highest gross state product.

This custom license plate is great to hang up indoors. You can customize it yourself or we can do it for you,.

License Plate - Detroit Pistons

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
January 18, 2010

Detroit Pistons is a professional basketball team formed during the 1940s in Fort Wayne , Indiana and was named for the Zollner Machine Company. It is among the eight teams in the Central Division of the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The Detroit Pistons were formerly known as Fort Wayne Zollner Pistons during 1941-48 and Fort Wayne Pistons from 1948-57.

In 1974, Zollner sold the team to Bill Davidson, and he remains the present owner of the team. The Pistons have a rich history when they scored a position in the Finals in 1955 and 1956, though they could not win the Championship. During the 1980s and early 1990s the Pistons were looked upon as one of the top teams in the league, reaching the NBA Finals from 1988 to 1990. They further won the championship titles in 1989 and 1990.

In the early 1980s trade, the Detroit Pistons brought in guards Isiah Thomas, Kelly Tripucka, and Vinnie Johnson and center Bill Laimbeer. Chuck Daly was signed as the head coach in 1983 and under his guidance the team led to the playoffs in 1984.

During 1988 and 1989 season the Pistons moved to The Palace of Auburn Hills and strengthened their team by including forward Mark Aguirre. Detroit had a streak defense and spiky shooting which helped them post 63 regular-season victories and advance to the 1989 NBA Finals, where they defeated the Lakers. The Pistons were again the champions in 1990 when they won over the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA Finals. During the 1990s the Pistons weakened as Detroit ’s star roster began to stagger. In 1994, forward Grant Hill was included in the team and the team’s performance started improving.

I will be buying this license plate sign for my daughters boyfriend birthday. He is a big Detroit Pistons fan.
