Reproduction Tin Sign – Barney Fife

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
April 18, 2011

Barney Fife Don Notts played Barney Fife on Andy Griffith show. Well Andy Griffith was the sheriff of Mayberry, Barney was his deputy.  I remember sitting in front of TV watching the show with my mother and little brother. As kid I thought all small time sheriff deputy were as dumb as Barney was. My mother use to say it’s only a show, but being a kid I just couldn’t understand what she meant by that. As kid I thought that was how the rest of the world was.

Then I as I got older I began to understand what my mom said about being a show. People seem to think life is like a TV show. When in real life some things never get solved at all. That’s the part of life when your kid you think every thing can be fixed in 30 minutes. Kids always believe in the impossible can happen. Maybe it still can at times. I guess that I’m still a kid at hart.

Jon Deer 160th aniv.

John Deer 160th aniv.

While sitting at lunch during work, we all started talking about things people buy on the Internet. The guys wanted things for their man-cave as they call it. The women were interested in things for the house or clothes.

My friend wants to know what to get her husband for Birthday? I made a few suggestions, but he already had that. I said I know he likes John Deer tractors why not get him a vintage reproduction sign. Then he can hang in his office or out in the garage at home. With the weather changing this time of year you can even get custom license plate or blanks for there vehicle.

Reproduction Sign – Beer

April 5, 2011

Beer is the world’s most widely consumed and probably oldest of alcoholic beverages. It is the third most popular drink overall, after water and tea. Beer consumption by Americans is about 85 liters per capita annually, which in 2002 ranked 8th in the world. It is produced by the brewing and fermentation of starches, mainly derived from  malted barley, although wheat, corn, and rice are widely used. Most beer is flavored with hops, which add bitterness and act as a natural preservative. Though other flavorings such as herbs or fruit may occasionally be included.

Beer in the United States is manufactured by more than 1,500 breweries which range in size from industry giants to brew pubs and microbreweries.   The big breweries that bounced back from prohibition produce the majority of the beer today. The most common style of beer in the United States is an American style pale lager modeled off of the Pilsner style. The majority of the new breweries in the US are  Micro breweries, called Brew Pubs when they also serve food on the premises. These producers make beer modeled off of traditional and original styles, but the majority originate from Belgian, German, and English tradition.

Well if you have pub or just love beer this reproduction beer sign is for you to hang up.

Parking Tin Signs – Party Time – It’s NOON Somewhere

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
April 4, 2011

It’s been a while since I did a song for a parking sign. I have always like Alan Jackson songs and this one fits this parking tin sign. Here’s the lyrics for his song. Hope every one likes it.

The sun is hot and that ol’ clock is movin’ slow
And so am I
Workday passes like molassas in wintertime
But it’s July
Gettin’ paid by the hour and older by the minute
My boss just pushed me over the limit
I’d like to call him somethin’
But think I’ll just call it a day

Chorus:
Pour me somethin’ tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It’s only half past twelve, but I don’t care
It’s five o’clock somewhere

This lunch break is gonna take all afternoon
And half the night
Tomorrow morning I know there’ll be hell to pay
Hey, but that’s all right
I ain’t had a day off now in over a year
My Jamaican vacation is gonna start right here
If the phones for me
You can tell ‘em I’ve just sailed away

Chorus:
Pour me somethin’ tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It’s only half past twelve, but I don’t care
It’s five o’clock somewhere

I could pay off my tab
Pour myself in a cab and be back to work before 2
At a moment like this, I can’t help but wonder
What would Jimmy Buffett do?

Jimmy Buffett spoken:
Funny you should ask, Alan
I’d say
Pour me somethin’ tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It’s only half past twelve, but I don’t care

Pour me somethin’ tall and strong
Make it a hurricane before I go insane
It’s only half past twelve, but I don’t care
He don’t care
And I don’t care
It’s five o’clock somewhere

Jimmy: What time zone am I on?
What country am I in?

Alan: It doesn’t matter

It’s five o’clock somewhere

Jimmy: It’s always on five in Margaritaville, come to think of it

Alan: I heard that

Jimmy: You’ve been there haven’t you?

Alan: Yes, Sir

Jimmy: I’ve seen your boat there

Alan: I’ve been to Margaritaville a few times

Jimmy: All right.
That’s good

Alan: Stumbled my way back

Jimmy: OK Just want to make sure you can keep it between the
navigational beacons

Alan: Between the bouys.
I got it

Reproduction Tin Sign- Chevy Truck Tribute

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
March 31, 2011

Some people still like the old trucks. The town I live in I see a lot of old trucks driving around in the summertime.  Michigan is a little hard on vehicles in the winter. The classic cars and trucks always show up at Rosie’s Dinner in the summer months.  It’s neat to pull in there, have a look at them and go into the dinner and have a meal. It’s like going back in time to a more slower pace.

Well if you like  Chevy Trucks this vintage truck sign is for you.

Reproduction Tin Sign -Route 66 Street Signs

posted by pbwethy @ 12:00 PM
March 28, 2011

U.S. Route 66 (also known as the Will Rogers Highway and also known as the “Main Street of America” or the “Mother Road”) was a highway within the U.S. Highway System. One of the original U.S. highways, Route 66 was established on November 11, 1926 — with road signs erected the following year. The highway, which became one of the most famous roads in America, originally ran from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California, before ending at Los Angeles, covering a total of 2,448 miles.  It was recognized in popular culture by both a hit song (written by Bobby Troup, originally recorded by the Nat King Cole Trio in 1946, and later performed by such artists as Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones, The Manhattan Transfer and Depeche Mode) and the Route 66 television show in the 1960s.

Route 66 underwent many improvements and realignments over its lifetime, changing its path and overall length. Many of the realignments gave travelers faster or safer routes, or detoured around city congestion. One realignment moved the western endpoint farther west from downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica.

Route 66 served as a major path for those who migrated west, especially during the Dust Bowl of the 1930s, and it supported the economies of the communities through which the road passed. People doing business along the route became prosperous due to the growing popularity of the highway, and those same people later fought to keep the highway alive in the face of the growing threat of being bypassed by the new Interstate Highway System.

U.S. 66 was officially removed from the United States Highway System on June 27, 1985 after it was decided the route was no longer relevant and had been replaced by the Interstate Highway System. Portions of the road that passed through Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico, and Arizona have been designated a National Scenic Byway of the name “Historic Route 66″. It has begun to return to maps in this form. Some portions of the road in southern California have been redesignated “State Route 66″, and others bear “Historic Route 66″ signs and relevant historic information.

If you like the past, here’s a reproduction route 66 street sign for you.
