Vintage Tin Sign - Legends - POW Eagle

The POW/MIA flag is an American flag designed as a symbol of citizen concern about United States military personnel taken as prisoners of war (POWs) or listed as missing in action (MIA). The POW/MIA flag was created by the National League of Families and officially recognized by the Congress in conjunction with the Vietnam War POW/MIA issue, “as the symbol of our Nation’s concern and commitment to resolving as fully as possible the fates of Americans still prisoner, missing and unaccounted for in Southeast Asia, thus ending the uncertainty for their families and the Nation.”

Counting Calories In Vegetables - Food Calories

Diet, Weight Loss Tips, Weight Loss Support, Weight Loss & Dieting Advice

When dieting, counting calories can render awesome results on your weight scales. Vegetables are tops for dieters because most all are ultra-low in calories and contain zero-minimal fat. Oh my, there is a pretty picture developing here - and that picture is YOU!

And vegetables make a healthy choice for anyone - dieting or not! Steaming your vegetables or enjoying them raw without added sauces/oils is the absolute healthiest means of preparation, though because they are so low in calories, a bit of sauce/glaze will certainly keep vegetables well within ‘diet calorie range’.

Be sure to wash all vegetables well  before use to remove harmful bacteria and insecticides. No calorie butter spray can be used generously, so squeeze that bottle and in turn, squeeze those unwanted pounds away by enjoying something healthy and diet smart!

This vintage tin sign will make a great Christmas gift.

License plate sign - Dale Earnhardt

posted by pbwethy @ 11:00 AM
October 1, 2009

Garth Brooks wrote a song  If tomorrow never comes they played this at the Dale Earnhardt Sr. tribute.  I think it’s only fitting to remember him during NASCAR season.  Let us remember are loved ones that are gone.  Dale Earhardt Sr. 1951- 2001

Sometimes late at night
I lie awake and watch her sleeping
She’s lost in peaceful dreams
So I turn out the lights and lay there in the dark
And the thought crosses my mind
If I never wake up in the morning
Would she ever doubt the way I feel
About her in my heart

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she’s my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

‘Cause I’ve lost loved ones in my life
Who never knew how much I loved them
Now I live with the regret
That my true feelings for them never were revealed
So I made a promise to myself
To say each day how much she means to me
And avoid that circumstance
Where there’s no second chance to tell her how I feel

If tomorrow never comes
Will she know how much I loved her
Did I try in every way to show her every day
That she’s my only one
And if my time on earth were through
And she must face the world without me
Is the love I gave her in the past
Gonna be enough to last
If tomorrow never comes

So tell that someone that you love
Just what you’re thinking of
If tomorrow never comes

For all you NASCAR fans here’s a license plate sign for you or a great gift.

The Unique Feel of a Relaxed Restaurant

posted by SignMeOn @ 11:12 AM
September 30, 2009

If you live in a major metropolitan area, you’ve probably noticed the reemergence of diners on the restaurant scene. Part of this trend can be attributed to the tough national economy, but it’s not too much of a stretch to suggest that the reasons run a bit deeper. Upscale restaurants have their own charm, but all too often they lack the sense of relaxation and camaraderie that a diner has in spades.

Diners are quaint, familiar places where you can find a meal without any fuss. Only the simplest, freshest ingredients are used, and the floor plan is instantly recognizable as well. You’ll have a few tables, a metal counter with backless stools and a jukebox in the corner. Unique bistro road signs line the walls of the joint, and the proprietor is happy to discuss the news of the day; if you’re lucky, he might even offer a few pearls of wisdom gleaned from a long career in the food industry.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel - Dog Breed Info
By John M Williams

Group: Toy

Weight: 10-18 lbs

Height: 11-13 inches

Overview

The first Cavalier King Charles Spaniels were originally recorded in paintings from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries as small dogs that were regularly found in the houses of royalty and in court. The largest supporter of these dogs used to be King Charles II, and he was usually seen with several of these dogs. During that time these dogs were used to attract fleas, and were also used as a way to cure stress ailments.

Temperament

Cavalier King Charles Spaniels have wonderful personalities, and is ideal dogs for families, couples and even single people. These dogs are inquisitive and playful by nature, but also like to just lie on their owner’s lap. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel likes to spend time with humans, and requires a lot of attention on a daily basis. These dogs does not like to be left alone for extended periods of time, and might become destructive or even nervous when this happens. Seeing that this is a dog that loves to chase, they may require proper socialisation to not chase other animals in the home. This is not an aggressive dog, and will get along well with other dogs. These dogs love to please their owners, and are very easy to train.

Care

The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel should be brushed often with a firm hair brush. Bathing should only be done if it is deemed necessary. The feathered hair on the ears of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has a tendency to tangle, and should by groomed often to prevent this from happening. It is also important to trim the hair between the pads on the feet of these dogs, and check their ears for obstructions. It is important that these dogs are warm and dried properly after bath. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is an average shedding dog.

Training

This is an extremely intelligent dog, and the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is very eager to learn. These dogs will do very well in hunting and agility if they receive the correct training. The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel does well in competitive obedience training, and they also make wonderful therapy dogs. These dogs will respond positively to training that involves praise and fair training methods.

Health problems

Although the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel is a toy breed, they are amazingly healthy. But there are some serious health problems that these dogs struggle with at times. Many of these can be eliminated if these dogs are bought from a trustworthy breeder. Some of the health conditions these dogs struggle with include syringomyelia , mitral valve heart disease, patellar luxation, Cataracts, otitis externa and an early commencement of hearing loss.

This novelty license plate tin sign would make a great gift.

Tin Sign - Think GREEN Environmental License Plates

Think Green – What can we do to help?

So what can we do?
Here are some tips on what you can do in your home to help conserve, recycle, reduce and reuse. Every little bit helps, so even if you don’t turn into a Mean GREEN Recycling Machine, at least throw your office paper into the recycling bin, instead of the regular trash.

Recycling Plastic BottlesThe bottled water fad seems to have exploded. You can pay upwards of $3 for a half liter bottle, water with vitamins added, water with flavors added (isn’t that just soda?), water that gives part of their proceeds to charity, there’s hooks and gimmicks all over the place but net net, water is water. The majority of bottled water is sourced from a municipal supply and further treated to remove any impurities that may be found in the source water. You will find some bottled water that is sourced from a Mountain Spring (FDA regulations stipulate that bottlers must reveal the source of the product on the label, if the label doesn’t say where its from, and you assume it is from a Spring, it probably isn’t). But, the only difference is not the purity of the product, but the mineral content (nothing to get alarmed about, it’s just that different minerals affect the taste in different ways).

On average, Americans use 2.5 million plastic bottles every hour. This number has escalated since the increase in sales of single serve bottled water. Sadly, the majority of these bottles do end up in landfills. Plastic bottles can be recycled but because they are made from petroleum, take between 50 and 100 years to decompose if added to a landfill. More than 45,000 tons of plastic trash is dumped into the world’s waterways every year, killing up to 1 million seabirds and 100,000 marine mammals annually.

If you want to show your green colors to the world here’s the license plate tin sign for you.

Tin Sign - Custom signs made

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A pipe major of the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders (date unknown)The Great Highland Bagpipe (Gaelic : A’ Phìob Mhòr, in English often abbreviated GHB) is a type of bagpipe native to Scotland, which has achieved widespread recognition through its usage in the British military and in pipe bands throughout the world.

The bagpipe is first attested in Scotland around 1400, having first appeared in European artwork in Spain in the 1200s. The earliest references to Scottish bagpipes are in a military context, and it is in that context that the Great Highland Bagpipe became established in the British military and achieved the widespread prominence it enjoys today, whereas other bagpipe traditions throughout Europe, ranging from Spain to Russia, almost universally went into decline by the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Though widely famous for its role in military and civilian pipe bands, the Great Highland Bagpipe is also used for a solo virtuosic style called piobaireachd or pibroch.

A custom of ours is a bagpiper and his wife wanted to get him a custom tin sign with a bagpiper on it. She can choose from parking tin sign, license plate tin sign, street sign, motorcycle or even bicyle tin sign.

Advertising as Art

posted by SignMeOn @ 10:41 AM
September 14, 2009

Avid television viewers will undoubtedly be familiar with the Emmy-winning dramatic series “Mad Men.” Set in a New York City advertising agency during the 1960s, the show evokes a feeling of nostalgia even for those who weren’t yet born in those simpler times. Although the fashions of the time were fascinating in their own right, it’s the advertising campaigns that stand out as particularly memorable.

Vintage advertising signs capture the charm of a bygone era in a succinct, decorative way. They can be used to decorate an otherwise modern living area or added to a growing collection of antique marketing materials. These signs are notably prevalent in bars and restaurants, but they are just as suitable for enjoyment at home. Even if the products they advertise haven’t been available for years, there’s no denying their aesthetic charm.

License plate tin sign - Dixie chicks

posted by pbwethy @ 11:00 AM

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

“Without You” is a song written by Eric Silver along with Natalie Maines, lead singer of the American country group the Dixie Chicks, who recorded the song for their 1999 album Fly. It was released as the album’s fifth single in August 2000 and in January 2001, hit Number One on the U.S. country singles chart. It also reached number 31 on the U.S. pop singles chart.
Written by lead singer Natalie Maines and country songwriter Eric Silver, “Without You” is on the surface one of the Chicks’ more conventional efforts, lacking the “attitude” factor that distinguished them at the time. A ballad that directly speaks of lost love

I thought by now the time,
Would take away these lonely tears.
I hope you’re doing fine all alone,
But where do I go from here, ’cause —
Without you, I’m not okay
And without you, I’ve lost my way
My heart’s stuck in second place
Ooo - ooo
Without you …
it was accompanied by acoustic guitar and soft percussion at the start, adding drums on the chorus, pedal steel guitar into the bridge and a dramatic strings part out of the bridge and into the last chorus, before finishing as it started. The tender melody is sung by Maines without excessive ornamentation, and the harmonies from Emily Robison and Martie Seidel are unobtrusive.

Dixie Chicks license plate tin sign would make a great gift for any fan.
